Effective altruism meetup - why care about Youtube's recommender

Join us at 7 pm for an interesting talk and for drinks after the Q&A at 8 pm.

Lê Nguyên Hoang, science communicator at the EPFL and YouTuber, will argue that it has become a pressing problem to align the YouTube recommender system. Indeed, it can be argued to be today's most influential entity, as slight modifications of it can have huge social impacts. Moreover, Lê will argue that aligning YouTube's AI can be viewed as a great practice run for Artificial General Intelligence alignment, which has been argued to be one of today's most pressing concerns.

Once everything's been asked, we will open up the evening to freely discuss any topic and socialize. Talk in English, discussion in whatever you prefer.
